DENVER IS GREEN EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR

On our way down to explore Lodo yesterday, we noticed that even the fake potted plants might raise eyebrows at the Kansas border.

From there we kicked off this beautiful 75° degree day with an amazing brunch at Snooze—free because they made us wait longer than promised. Uh, okay...we were having fun looking around nearby locations including the Tattered Cover Bookstore and beautiful Union Station (is there a city in the midwest that doesn't have a beautiful Union Station?)
I left home so long ago that I hadn't thought to pack something green, so we made a stop at Rockmount Ranch Wear. Did you know they are credited with inventing the snap-button shirt?? I found a lime green gingham shirt that fits so perfectly, you will likely see it on me on and in between many St. Patrick's Days to come.
Machete was the perfect place to sip some tequila in celebration of the day with my Irish-Mexican boyfriend, then we had one more thing to shop for—ski pants that met my stringent requirements of being waterproof, and comfortable enough that I can fall down and get back up a lot.
I will tell you that the REI Denver flagship store is gorgeous, a renovation of the Denver Tramway Co building constructed in 1901. And it takes a lot of money to pay for a place like that, as reflected on the price tags.
So we found my water-proof, fall-friendly pants at a consignment shop around the corner.
By late afternoon, everyone back in Lodo was having so much fun that the sights started to include people puking out of open car doors
while less advanced revelers looked on with disgust or empathy, depending on their own progress. After walking around a bit more, we enjoyed a steak dinner and retired relatively early.
We were serenaded throughout the night by drunken shouts and people being arrested on the street 10 stories below.
Next stop, Breckenridge. Happy weekend, friends.
